Laboratory & Analyses
Equipped with high-performance analytical tools, the AQUANAL laboratory carries out a complete range of analyses to assess the nutritional labelling of food products.
Since 2016, the European regulation ( Food information to consumers EU N°1169/2011) requires a nutritional declaration for all pre-packaged foodstuffs (these values are expressed per 100 g or 100 ml of product).
This nutrition label must include :
- energy value (in Kcal and Kj)
- fat content (lipids) (g) including saturated fatty acids (g)
- carbohydrate content, including sugars (g)
- protein content (g)
- salt content (sodium x 2.5) (g)
Other optional information may be added:
- Fibre, vitamins, minerals and trace elements content, mono- and polyunsaturated fatty acids, polyols…

Our expertise
Vitamins
General information
AQUANAL is currently the French laboratory with the highest number of COFRAC accreditations (Accreditation n°1-0703, scope available on www.cofrac.fr) for vitamin analysis. Our laboratory analyses all water-soluble and fat-soluble vitamins using official liquid chromatography methods coupled with specific detectors (UV, visible, fluorimetry, etc.) and ultra-high performance liquid chromatography coupled with tandem mass spectrometry (UHPLC-MS/MS).
Our many participations in inter-laboratory trials for the development and validation of official vitamin analysis methods enable us to constantly innovate our techniques.
The laboratory’s performance in this particular area of analysis means that it is recognised in France and Europe as the specialist in vitamin assays.
Infant formulas & DADFMS
(foods for special medical purposes)
Food supplements
French leader for several decades in vitamin analysis, thanks to its participation in the inter-laboratory tests set up to develop and validate new reference methods (AFNOR, CEN, ISO). Specific methods.
As the only French laboratory actively involved in the validation of internationally-recognised reference methods (ISO standards) for checking the composition of infant formulas and clinical nutrition products (SPIFAN project: Stakeholder Panel on Infant Formula and Adult Nutritionals), we can offer you reference methods tailored to enable you to check the composition of your products.
